Two kinds of meetings

General meetings and board meetings

General Meetings

1st Saturday of the month, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Our monthly community meeting. Hear from elected officials and city departments, learn what is happening in the neighborhood, and bring your questions and concerns.

Board Meetings

3rd Monday of the month, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

The governing board votes on funding, community impact statements, letters of support and council business. Public comment is taken on every agenda item.

Public comment

Your comments are part of the public record and help the board make better decisions.

  • On agenda items: comments are heard when the item is being considered, before the board takes action. When prompted by the presiding officer, dial *9 on your phone or use the Raise Hand option in Zoom to address the board on any agenda item before the board takes action.
  • On anything else: matters within the board’s jurisdiction that are not on the agenda are heard during General Public Comment.
  • Public comment is limited to 2 minutes per speaker, unless adjusted by the presiding officer.
  • Under the Brown Act, the board cannot act on a matter raised during General Public Comment, but the issue may become the subject of a future meeting.
  • The board does not require comments to be submitted in advance, and always provides an opportunity to comment in real time.
  • To request that an item be added to a future agenda, email office@ecwandc.org.

If the broadcast is interrupted

If a disruption prevents the board from broadcasting the meeting, or prevents the public from commenting by phone or online, the board takes no further action on agenda items until public access is restored (California Government Code Section 54953.8).

Accessibility and accommodations

As a covered entity under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the City of Los Angeles does not discriminate on the basis of disability and, upon request, will provide reasonable accommodation to ensure equal access to its programs, services and activities.
