Committees are open to every stakeholder, not just board members. They study issues, hear from the community and bring recommendations to the board. Pick the one that matches what you care about.
Outreach Committee
Gets the word out and brings more neighbors into the council.
Planning, Land Use and Beautification Committee
Reviews development proposals and land use policy inside our boundaries.
Finance Committee
Prepares the annual budget and reviews every funding request.
Safety Committee
Our liaison to LAPD, schools, parks and local businesses on public safety.
Bylaws-Rules Committee
Recommends changes to the council’s bylaws and policies.
Economic Empowerment Committee
Entrepreneurship, leadership, technology and job readiness for generational wealth.
Education and Youth Development Committee
Advocacy, research and programs for young people and access to education.
HOA, Block Club and Tenant Committee
Working together to build a stronger community, block by block.
Cannabis Regulation Committee
A community voice in the selection of cannabis businesses.
Government and Legislative Committee
Tracks legislation that affects our community.
Parking Committee
Addresses parking issues arising from new development.
How to join a committee
Show up. Committee meetings are public, and stakeholders who attend regularly can be appointed as voting committee members. Email the committee contact to be added to its notification list, or raise your hand at a general meeting.
Chairs are board members appointed by the Chair of the council. Committees follow the same Brown Act rules as the board: agendas are posted 72 hours in advance and public comment is taken on every item.
