Finance Committee
Prepares the annual budget and reviews every funding request.
What the committee does
Responsible for development of an annual budget for approval by the board; monitoring the board’s financial status and expenditures; screening and reviewing all funding requests for eligibility and appropriateness; and developing and ensuring compliance with neighborhood council funding guidelines and all city, state and federal financial reporting requirements. The committee also administers Neighborhood Purpose Grants.
Who can take part
Any stakeholder may attend, comment and volunteer. Regular participants may be appointed as voting members of the committee. Meetings follow the Brown Act: agendas are posted at least 72 hours in advance and public comment is taken on every item, limited to two minutes per speaker.
